i haven’t played monopoly in 3 years.

the last time i played, i was playing against my ex and my best friend. shortly after the game ended, my best friend got a phone call. his grandfather had passed away. he was very upset (he was raised by his grandparents and was very close to them.)

as we were consoling him, my ex got a phone call from her mother. her grandmother (paternal) had passed away in hospice. weird, right?

the next morning, i got a phone call from my mother while i was at work. “Your grandmother died last night…”

so, i’m permanently retired from the game of Monopoly. i’m sure it was just an odd coincidence that we all lost a grandparent after that game,

but i’m not going to test that theory.

there isn’t much to do outside of the strip. there are some nice areas to shop and eat outside of the strip, like Boca Park and Henderson. a lot of people take helicopter rides to the Grand Canyon. but there’s plenty to do/see on the strip. have fun!

edit: vegas has an arts district called 18b with cool galleries and theaters and boutiques. it’s literally right around the corner from the strip.

pastimes: off the top of my head, i play jeopardy with the fam. if we’re all together, we wait for jeopardy to come on and we all watch it together. first one to blurt out the right answer gets a tally. most tallies at the end of the game wins.

in a perfect world, 5 years from now i’ll still be in rhode island with izzy. i’ll have found the cool blacks and we’ll started some sort of gang. a nice gang, though. we’ll meet for coffee and talk about books n shit. hopefully i’ll be done with school and looking for a cool job and happy as fuck and yeah. in a perfect world.
